PCT: Day 138

Zero Day in White Pass

It’s supposed to rain nearly 2 inches tonight so we opted for another day at White Pass to be out of the worst of the weather. Better to start the day dry and hike in a little rain and set up the tent dry when the rain stops, rather than to pack up a wet tent and set up a wet tent. Also the room here is pretty awsome and a day out of the cold watching movies sounded appealing. It didn’t hurt that Stewart, the gentleman who contacted me over Facebook and called us PCT heros of the week, wanted to put Carolyn and I up in a room at some point during our trip as a thank you gesture for helping his friend. It was a fairly easy decision to stay.

We relaxed and took the day easy getting some laundry done and comming up with creative meals to eat on account of there not being any restaurants nearby and the small store didn’t have much in the way of food. We a rounded up some things to make grilled cheese and tomato soup and had some mac and cheese and Mexican rice and beans for dinner. It did the trick.

We aren’t looking forward to getting back into the cold and wet tommorrow. Thankfully after Tuesday the weather is supposed to turn around- which I’m more than excited about.
