August 23rd, 2016

Miles Hiked: 34

End Location: Mile 2062

Felt a little better today after a good nights sleep but it’s still not the same without Carolyn. The trail today was interesting as I passed by Mt. Jefferson and got my first views of Mt. Hood, Helens and Adams. Helens was interesting as the top blew off after its eruption in the 1990s. You forget that these are volcanoes when you are out here.

I saw a guy named Tyler who I hadn’t seen since the very first day. It was nice chatting with him.

I’ll try and get to within a few miles of Timberline Lodge tommorrow which is my next resupply stop. Apparently the breakfast buffet is of epic proportions. Something to look forward to.
