PCT: Day 116

August 14th, 2016

Miles Hiked: 25

Start Location: Mile 1845

End Location: Mile 1870

End Location GPS: 43.30494, -122.00250

It was mostly an uneventful day meandering through the Oregon woods. We saw Mt. Thielson, a very pointy spire of rock that juts into the heavens like a gigantic lightning magnet. It was cool.

We are going to take the Oregon Skyline Trail alternate tommorrow. This 20 mile alternate bypasses 27 miles of the PCT and goes by a lot of cool lakes and ends at our next resupply stop. This means many water opportunities tommorrow. It’s been crappy lately with a 26 mile carry yesterday and today a 16 mile carry that culminated in a 0.5 mile side trail down a steep embankment to get the water. Not having to carry so much and getting some different views than the piny woods will be nice.
