PCT: Day 8

April 29th, 2016

Miles Hiked: 16

Total Miles: 109

Start Location: Campsite mile 0093

End Location: Warner Springs Community Center

End Location GPS: 33.27487, -116.64527

Pleasant day after another night of horrid wind, which blew my tent stake out of the ground in the middle of the night. We decended out of the San Filipe Hills into a vast gorge and meadow, it was really quite lovely.

We are camping at the Warner Springs Community Center with like 30 other hikers. It looks like a tent city out here. I much prefer our quiet isolated tent site we had last night away from everyone.

Tomorrow we start out towards Idyllwild, the next town stop. We picked up a resupply box at the Post Office and are ready to take off first thing in the morning. Carolyn was tired today but she is doing an awesome job. Reached 100 miles today which is a huge victory psychologically. We are starting to get into a rhythm and each new day is becoming a little bit easier.
