PCT: Day 2

April 23rd, 2016

Miles Hiked: 14.6

Total Miles: 30

Start Location: Hauser Creek

End Location: Yellow Rose Spring

End Location GPS: 32.75310, -116.45175

Good second day overall. Initial impressions are quite good. The trail is easy to follow and well graded, and the scenery is truly miraculous. It’s more like a desert forest, with trees and shrubs and cactus, and green…a lot more green than I had imagined it to be. I’m quite pleased and happy by all of it.

Carolyn is battling some early hike blisters which she is hiking through. We put some paper tape around them and that seemed to help. I hope they get better soon. Blisters are the devil.

We plan to reach the very small town of Mt Laguna tomorrow, which has a small lodge and outfitter. We sent a food box there and will collect it as we pass through.
