September 16th, 2016 It was a tough decision but we ultimately decided to stop hiking for this year. We both were at that point where it wasn’t worth it anymore to hike in miserable conditions. But this does not mean we are done with the PCT forever! We are planning on coming back next summer

We completed 17 miles by 4, which was pretty good considering all the short but steep climbs today and Carolyn’s heels, which continue to bother her.
