What a day!<\/p>\n

Mud. Boulders. Ladders. Slick rocks. Ropes. You name it, we did it, or fell trying to.<\/p>\n

One of about a hundred thousand mud pits along the way<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nIt was a really hard day and took us nearly 11 hours to traverse only 13 miles. We summited three peaks, Burnt Rock, mount Glen Ellen and Camels Hump. It was an ass buster of a day.\n

The trail remained waterlogged and full of mud, slick roots and perilous rocks.<\/p>\n

It was very slow going.<\/p>\n

Tasty, right?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nBut the work was well worth the reward, and after several days of torrential rain, we finally got a really pleasant day where it counted.\n

We got numerous views all day, culminating with Camels Hump, which offered 360 degree views north towards Mount Mansfield, south towards Mt. Abraham, east towards the White Mountains in New Hampshire and west towards lake Champlane and the Adirondack High Peaks.<\/p>\n
